Akira Haraguchi was a Japanese man, who at age 59, broke the world record for reciting pi decimal numbers.

Breaking the record

3 hours into the first recital, he had to start all over again because he had lost his spot. He took several hours to name the numbers, finishing the next day. He named 83,431 pi numbers before forgetting. He almost doubled the previous record of 42,159, set in 1995.
