Numbers are any characters that represent a numerical value.
Numbers are split into a few categories: Real Numbers, Rational Numbers, Irrational Numbers, Integers, Whole Numbers, and Natural Numbers.
Note that numbers can fall in more than one of the categories listed above.
Real Numbers[]
A real number is any number that is finite and can be put on a number line.
Rational Numbers[]
A rational number is any number that can be produced by dividing two numbers. In other words, any number that can be represented as a common fraction is a rational number.
Irrational Numbers[]
As its name suggests, an irrational number is the opposite of a rational number. It cannot be represented as a common fraction. Irrational Numbers have decimal places that go on forever without repeating.
Integers[]
An integer is any number which is whole on the number line, i.e. neutral (zero), positive, and negative numbers. If a number is a fraction, decimal, percentage, or mixed number, then it isn't a integer.
